Description
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Project Logistics Specialist with a long-term client, on a 12-month contract.


Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience, involving large international transport, trade and project logistics and project management experience is desirable.

Ability to manage 5-10 different projects. Experience moving large equipment and cargo willbe considered.


Travel will be required at times for this position, primarily, but not restricted to, within the EMEA region supporting logistics and operating sites, suppliers, partners & client visits.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Interact with a variety of departments including operations, engineering, legal, and business management to achieve goals.
  • Effectively utilise Logistics Material Control systems.
  • Effectively utilise eSourcing tools to launch inquiries and receive supplier quotations and proposals.
  • Assist in developing strategies for and lead the commercial contracting negotiations for 3rd party logistics services.
  • Manage Shipping estimates and development of cost forecasts.
  • Create and manage the logistics proposals.
  • Identify, develop, and manage suppliers; understand safety, commercial and capacity risks.
  • Understand the logistics markets and the industries.
  • Monitor, communicate, and respond to changing market conditions and business drivers to maximise leverage and minimise risk.
  • Lead crossfunctional teams involved in supplier discovery and optimising the client's logistics spend.
  • Work closely with supported businesses and functional organisations to ensure stability and cost effectiveness of supply.
  • Bring innovative supplier solutions to maximise value proposition for individual projects and or across the supply chain.
  • Manage budgets and achieve targeted savings, develop, and manage key supplier relationships to ensure alignment with business strategies.
  • Experience wit SAP is an advantage.

Your Profile:
The successful applicant will have strong organisational, team and time management skills. The ability to use all aspects of Microsoft with ease (Excel, Word, PowerPoint Etc). Flexible working and means to travel at short notice are advantageous.

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate written and verbal, with technical and non-technical information.

Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, global environment.

Job Title - Project Logistics Specialist

Location - Surrey UK

Type - 12 Month Contract - Possible temp to perm.

Hours - Monday - Friday

Salary - £35-43ph PAYE, DOE
