We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Part-Time Petrol Station Assistant.

As a Petrol Station Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our petrol station, delivering outstanding customer service while maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness.


Main Tasks of Job:


  • Using the till and related equipment to process fuel sales, correctly charging customers for purchases.
  • Demonstrating outstanding customer service and a positive, engaging manner during all interactions with customers and garden centre team, including at busy/pressurized times.
  • Maintaining the forecourt and shop to the required customer/safety standard, including hoovering, washing pumps and equipment, emptying bins, clearing debris, cleaning microwave and drinks dispensers, and managing small fuel spillages.
  • Ensuring that shop products are ordered/deliveries received/product restocked/prices correct.
  • Ensuring that all health and safety guidelines are followed, including the display of relevant safety signage on the forecourt.
  • Helping customers with general enquiries.
  • Taking responsibility, as a lone worker, for the petrol station operation, including alerting relevant management in emergencies or with customer/equipment issues.
  • Opening and closing the petrol station if working hours include this operation.
  • Communicating to the Manager ideas that might increase sales or improve customer service.
  • Adhering to all policies and Health & Safety requirements as set out by the company.
  • Carrying out all reasonable tasks requested by management.
  • Carrying out such further tasks and assisting in other areas of the Garden Centre as may from time to time be delegated to you from your manager or other responsible person.
  • Trained operatives only receiving fuel deliveries, ensuring that all procedures are followed, and the petrol station is safe at all times.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience in a customer service role preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as required.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent


Pay:
From £11.44 per hour


Expected hours:
No less than 12 per week
