The Headteacher and Governors at
Coppice Primary School and Nursery are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated
Clerk to the Governing Board.

Excellent administrative, organisational and communication skills are essential.


Coppice Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive learning environment which is dedicated to providing high-quality education for children aged years.

As the
Clerk to Governors you will contribute to the efficient and effective function of the Governing Board and its committees by:


  • Providing efficient, reliable and confidential service to the Governing Board and committees.
  • To advise the Governing Board on constitutional matters and procedures for school governance.
  • Managing information effectively in accordance with legal requirements.
Applicants must demonstrate flexibility in their approach to the role as there is no fixed pattern of working hours.

Meetings are currently scheduled one per term from 5:30pm, but all preparation before and after meetings is expected to be completed remotely from home.

A laptop and access to necessary data will be provided for the role.

  • Proficient organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility in adapting to varying working hours.
  • Collaborative nature, capable of both teambased and independent work.
  • Familiarity with educational legislation, guidelines, and legal mandates.
  • Efficient time management skills, adept at prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Appreciation for the significance of confidentiality.

Requirements:


  • Experience of clerking/Minute taking.
  • Knowledge of Governance and legislative requirements relevant to a school.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/Internet.
