An exciting opportunity has become available for a Bookkeeper to join a forward-thinking business based in Andover, Hampshire.

*This is a part-time role. Our client is open to 16-24 hours per week, and hybrid working is also on offer*Job type - Permanent

Salary - £25,000 - £30,000 (this will be pro-rata to the hours you work)

Location - Andover

Our client is seeking someone that has experience working as an Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper, Credit Controller, or similar. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a varied role within a well-regarded business.


Key skills required for a Bookkeeper:

  • Experience working as a Bookkeeper or similar
  • Ideally, AAT Level 3/4 qualified
  • Selfchecker with an excellent eye for detail
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Experience with Sage 50 Accounts is desirable
  • Comfortable with processing high volumes of data into the accounts system with speed and accuracy

Key responsibilities for a Bookkeeper:


  • Responsible for chasing all outstanding debts and reporting weekly on actions taken.
  • Maintaining Credit limits
  • Liaise with debt collectors or solicitors as necessary and ensure that all correspondence is available on file.
  • Responsible for the preparation of an uptodate slowpaying customer stop list on a weekly basis for review by Finance Manager.
  • Updating project tracker with payment status
  • Chasing retention payments and maintaining records
  • Gates & Small Works invoicing
  • Posting & allocating cash receipts


  • Purchase ledger

  • Match PO'S/Delivery notes to supplier invoices resolve any discrepancies, post invoices onto sage
  • Responsible for the posting of up to 250 purchase invoices to the ledger per month
  • Monthly Supplier Reconciliations match to statements & chase missing invoices
  • Preparing monthly supplier payment run
  • Post monthly Credit card transactions
  • Process and pay staff expenses
  • Bank payments
  • Manage Loans/HP/Leases
  • Weekly Bank Reconciliation
  • CIS identify subcontractors liable for CIS & submit monthly return
  • Monthly VAT Returns
  • Monthly PAYE payment
  • Prepare and post payroll journal
