Cook - Part time, 10am - 2pm - £ North London

We are looking for an experienced Cook based in North London for an independent housing facility you will be catering for around 10 people on a normal day and up to 25 on a busy day.

You will have sole charge of the kitchen as unless there is an event there is no KP.

The successful applicant will be required to provide high quality lunches and occasional function catering.
A positive approach and good communication skills are essential

Salary:
£13.75 per hour

Hours: 10am - 2pm, 3-4 days a week. One week doing 3 shifts and the next doing 4, there are alternate weekends to be worked.

Responsibilities:

Plan and agree menus with the Duty Manager and Court Manager to provide varied and nutritionally balanced menus on a daily basis as well as, if requested, mid-morning and afternoon refreshments
Work to a budget, organise the ordering and delivery of fresh produce and general provisions in a timely manner and in such a way as to minimise waste
Where possible consider the particular dietary requirements of individual owners and prepare meals accordingly having liaised with a Duty Manager
Strictly adhere to all current Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations
Supervise the work of any Housekeeping Assistants allocated to assist in the preparation of meals
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly used in accordance with instructions and is properly cleaned and maintained
Implement a cleaning rota for all equipment
Ensure that all meals and refreshments are presented and served to professional standards

To be successful:

Experienced, keen home cook as a cook or a chef looking to reduce hours.
Ability to manage workload independently.
Some pastry experience - desirable not essential
Good communication
Fast learner
