Overview:

Your Role
Are you an up-and-coming Pensions Consultant based in Yorkshire / North East region of the United Kingdom (Newcastle / Leeds /York / Sheffield / Wakefield)?


Do have a passion for delivering high-quality consultancy and client services? If so, we have a unique opportunity for you to join our Corporate Pension and Employee Benefits team.

This is a non-regulated, B2B, corporate pension and employee benefits role. Utilising your wealth of experience, you'll maintain and develop a portfolio of new and existing corporate clients. You'll provide high-quality advice and consultancy while identifying and developing new business opportunities.

You'll be responsible for client account ownership, anticipating and promptly responding to their ongoing and future needs and objectives.

Responsibilities:


Key Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrating extensive and uptodate technical employee benefits knowledge at all times, advising clients as required within the designated Permitted Areas of Activity as confirmed by line management/Compliance
  • Actively contributing towards the development and management of the Employee Benefits corporate objectives
  • Developing effective internal and external relationships to assist in providing an efficient professional service to clients in line with service agreements and manage their expectations on work being undertaken
  • Achieving and exceeding revenue targets, through retention of existing clients and new business generation
  • Ensuring the profitable growth of the business by identifying and proactively developing and securing additional revenue from existing clients and new client relationships through crossselling initiatives, referrals, professional connections and leveraging AJG's internal network
  • Proactively identifying other new business opportunities for other areas of the wider business and General Insurance broking colleagues within the AJG Group
  • Taking overall responsibility to ensure all clients are profitable, serviced on the agreed standard / bespoke pricing basis, and fee invoicing process is undertaken in a timely manner
  • Monitoring income to ensure budget achievement and financial control over portfolio and client budgets
  • Ensuring adherence to the firm's engagement and reengagement procedures, with suitable protections in place

Qualifications:

Technical knowledge and understanding

  • Extensive and up to date technical knowledge of employee benefits consultancy (e.g. Corporate contract based DC Pensions / Group Risk / Healthcare) and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Awareness of the regulatory requirements in respect of 'advised' and 'nonadvised' sales, and in particular evidencing the standards and knowledge required in respect of giving advice and making recommendations to customers

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience within similar role in Financial Services
  • Demonstrable record of sales success, with ability to manage and develop compliant business from new and existing clients in the corporate client arena
  • Service and sales orientated: outstanding customer service, translates client needs into engagements, demonstrates commerciality in their actions, established network of contacts internally and externally, developing and maintaining strong relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communication / presentation skills at all levels, both internally and externally


  • Business acumen

  • Ability to work under pressure, solve problems and develop workable solutions
  • Proven project management capability and experience
