Job Description:


  • Join us as an Innovation Lead where you will shape the strategy, execute and commercialise initiatives related to soil health and carbon.
  • Lead the strategic direction and vision for the Demand Generation Studio soil health and carbon commercial initiatives, with the autonomy to bring innovative ideas to the forefront.
  • Develop the vision, value proposition, business model, and gotomarket strategy for soil health and carbonrelated initiatives.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and developments by conducting market research and keeping uptodate on competitors, technologies, collaborations, and deals.
  • Evaluate and assess new business models to determine their viability and commercial potential.
  • Build financial models to evaluate business opportunities and assess unit economics and viability. Continuously evaluate the commercial value and ROI of initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to continuously evaluate commercial value and ROI of initiatives.
  • Report progress and key learnings regularly to management and other internal stakeholders.
  • Lead the implementation of the overall soil health and carbon commercial initiatives strategy.
  • Build strong and lasting partnerships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Develop and commercialise products and solutions that answer customers' needs and wants.
  • Act as a main point of contact between customers and AACN.
  • Negotiate and execute commercial agreements and lead the design of pilots and projects.
  • Lead the design and characteristics of pilots and projects.
  • Coordinate internal functions, such as Agronomy, Sciences and Solutions, Marketing, Finance, Legal, etc., as needed.
  • Generate strategic value and revenues for AACN.
  • Develop, measure, track and analyse key commercial metrics.
  • Source and develop new customers and partnerships from start to finish, including leading commercial negotiations and developing marketing and commercial materials.
  • Proactively network and build relationships with external open innovation network in related fields (universities, corporate innovators, entrepreneurs, thoughtleaders, venture capitalists).
  • Present at the industry conferences and attend roundtables.
  • Attend industry networking events and act as ambassador the company.
  • Qualifications
  • A University bachelor's degree or master's qualification in an appropriate Agronomy, Soil Science or Agriculture discipline.
  • Experience in Agritech/Sustainability sectors such as precision agriculture, regenerative agriculture, controlled environment agriculture and carbon farming.
  • Knowledge of agronomy and soil science such as: carboncycling, nutrientcycling, regenerative agriculture, sustainable agriculture, organic crop production and soil health.
  • Technical understanding of the business model canvas, business model incubator and its associated innovation frameworks is desired.
  • Ability to formulate a strategy, translate it into actions and execute it.
  • The commercial competency to be able to do some of the initial, founder led sales for the businesses.
  • Proven ability to understand key performance drivers and achieve objectives, financial profitability, and effective business relationships.
  • Sound business judgment, with the ability to anticipate firm needs and identify and implement practical, realistic solutions.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential and highly sensitive information with the highest levels of discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent numerical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills. Highly proficient in spoken and written English essential.
  • Advanced time and project management skills. Agile preferred.
  • Passion for sustainability, climate change and regenerative agriculture.
