**Base salary: £25050 to c£31300 depending on skills and experience. In addition, we offer flexible benefits fund of 15% which is paid on top base salary and is fully pensionable, as well as a range of competitive benefits - check them out in the Benefits section on our website.
**PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A 12 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT

The Architectural Assistant will report to the Lead Architect and is responsible for supporting the architectural team in all of the team's activities and interfaces within HS2, and externally with the organisation's suppliers and stakeholders.

**About the role

  • Support the Head of Architecture and other members of the Architectural Team in managing their varied workloads and responsibilities.
  • Provide technical support in creating, sourcing and managing documents and material to enable the architectural team to fulfil its responsibilities.
  • Support the liaison with interdisciplinary teams across the Infrastructure Directorate (ID) and the Phase 1 delivery team and Phase 2 to deliver a coordinated multidiscipline approach to architectural design.
  • Assist with the managing of programmes and workflows with Design Consultants.
  • Assist with the management of Technical Requirements with members of the Architectural Team.
  • Ensuring safety is a key priority in all aspects of the role.
  • Providing a design custodian role for the HS2 Design Vision. Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

About You

Skills:


  • 2D & 3D CAD proficiency, and Adobe (particularly InDesign) competency essential
  • Ability to manage workload to meet agreed deadlines and targets.
  • Communication and organisation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Portfolio that demonstrates design thinking and design development.

Knowledge:


  • A RIBA accredited Part 1 Architect. Good working knowledge of Microsoft and Excel

Type of Experience:


  • Background within the Operational Railway environment
  • Membership of IRO or other relevant body (preferable)
