Senior Claims Handler (Validation) - South West - up to £24k per annum, flexi holidays, private health care, generous pension scheme, opportunity for progression with full support towards industry qualifications


A fast paced, forward thinking specialist claims handling organisation who are passionate about people, have a big team spirit and want to provide the best customer service are now looking for an experienced Claims Handler to join their rapidly growing ValidationClaims Handling team which will be an exciting time to join.

You will manage a day to day workload of insurance claims from start to finish. There is a dedicated induction programme with continuous training through coaching and buddying. A dedicated developmentprogramme is also offered which includes training and promotion opportunities.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Be responsible for a caseload of claims
  • Provide coaching to network surveyors, and act as their key point of contact to advise them on policy queries and complaints handling as required.
  • Proactively supervise your caseload through the validation process, reducing complaints by your ability to pursue suppliers and ensure they are keeping customers updated ahead of any issues arising
  • Settle any claims that have not been automated and have needed to be handed back to the call centre by a surveyor by using your knowledge of scoping, dispute management and effective negotiation skills with the customer
  • Assist surveyors with the Review and approval of contractor files or estimates from third party suppliers during the validation processes, e.g. creating and managing a trace and access file to enable the validation of a claim.

About you:


  • Household Claims Handling experience essential
  • The ability to make decisions, plan and manage each claim through to settlement
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and experience
  • The ability to work under pressure
  • Complaints handling skills within a claims environment
  • To be Cert CII or Cert CILA qualified or equivalent or working towards
