Employed by the PCC
Accountable to the EWS Steering Committee, currently a sub-committee of the PCC. It works in close co-operation with the PCC and vicar. Post transition, the steering committee will become the board of trustees.


Context

St Germain's Emotional Wellbeing Service (EWS) has grown from an initial offer to our local community during the Covid-19 pandemic, into an established Emotional Wellbeing Support Service offering support to people in the local area and beyond.

The EWS was established in May 2020 to equip people to self-manage mental health issues, particularly those caused by or exacerbated by Covid-19.

This free service has fast become one of the main referral points for GP-based social prescribers.

We have provided early interventions which have impacted wellbeing, and supported people at their time of need, whilst waiting lists for secondary services have been at record highs.

To date the EWS has conducted more than 1000 support sessions, supporting more than 400 service users. Our Warwick Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing dataset for 2021 showed that more than 85% of service users who completed a course of one-to
- one support experienced a statistically significant improvement in their mental wellbeing.

Although the Steering Committee is currently a sub-committee of St Germain's Church's governing body, the EWS is transitioning to independent CIO status.

This role is key to shaping the EWS and enabling it to become a robust independent provider of this essential service.

Job role
We are looking for an experienced
Chief Executive Officer, able to manage the
Emotional Wellbeing Service into independence as a separate charity. Our interim
CEO will have a proven track record of managing a small organisation through change.

You will have skills to work strategically, have business management skills, be able to lead and grow a team, and to work relationally.

As CEO, your primary goal will be to drive the charity's development into independence, placing it on a firm foundation for long term sustainability.

Although responsible for the new organisation's financial stability, you will work with our fundraising consultant to achieve this goal.


Principal Responsibilities:


Key Objectives

• Effect the transition to a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation)
• Work with the Steering Committee to strengthen its membership
• Work with the Steering Committee to develop the EWS' strategic plans and development priorities in consultation with EWS staff
• Enable the EWS manager to deliver the EWS' programme effectively and efficiently
• Represent the EWS at functions, public meetings and other events

Staff management and leadership

• To manage the staff effectively, providing supervision, support, development and to establish an appropriate HR function within the new organisation

Communication and representation

• Act as an ambassador for the EWS, networking widely to build new and existing strategic relationships
• Manage the development and maintenance of effective channels of marketing/communication with all stakeholders

Fundraising

• Work with the Trustees and the fundraising consultant to ensure the EWS' financial sustainability
• Manage data collection and monitoring as required by funders, collectively or individually

Finance and legal

• Establish the EWS as an independent charitable organisation
• Develop policies and procedures,including safeguarding, for effective independence from St Germain's Church

Personal and spiritual

St Germain's Church is part of the Anglican Communion, reflecting its diversity as well as the social diversity of our local area.

Essential
