Analysis, design, development and support of custom software solutions and systems to support business processes, for both back office and public facing operations. The software may be standalone, provide integration between thirdparty systems or enhancethe functionality of thirdparty systems.

Undertake design and development of new systems or the amendment of existing systems to support the business requirements. Work either in conjunction with other members of the IS team or directly with end users for process analysis, requirements gatheringand system testing.
Assist with the planning and implementation of projects for new systems and services
Ensure systems are designed and developed in a secure manner to mitigate risk against cyber threats and common malware attack

Software Developer

Support and maintain existing software systems and developments
Contribute to the development of platforms underpinning the clients web presence
Adopt best practice methods for the maintenance of code bases, the testing and implementation of new releases and versions and the provision of documentation related to any custom code that is developed.

Participate in the wider work of the IS Department to help meet new challenges and changing circumstances.
Train other staff members in any systems that are developed or introduced.

Participate in projects requiring software development or complex systems configuration or integration
Be responsible for the delivery of solutions requiring custom code, including its testing, implementation, documentation, and longerterm management
Assist in the maintenance of existing code and configuration, and fault finding and problem resolutions that may arise.
Train end users on implemented software solutions.

The postholder is expected to liaise with members of a project team and directly with end users for the delivery of software systems.

They may also need to work with external software suppliers and partners as appropriate to maintain the service levels forthe systems for which they are responsible.
