As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a dedicated Nurture Mentor to join our team.


Role Overview:


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide oneonone support to the student with SEMH needs, focusing on their social, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
  • Develop and implement personalized strategies and interventions to support the student's learning and development.
  • Foster positive relationships with the student, building trust and rapport to facilitate their engagement and progress.
  • Monitor and track the student's progress, adjusting support strategies as needed to address emerging needs and challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting the student.
  • Effectively deescalate challenging behaviour, using appropriate techniques and strategies to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to staff members on best practices for supporting students with SEMH needs.

Requirements:


  • Qualified to HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) level or equivalent.
  • Degreelevel qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Psychology, Social Work).
  • Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH issues and their impact on learning and development.
  • Ability to deescalate challenging behaviour and maintain a calm and supportive demeanour in stressful situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, sharing knowledge and expertise to support student progress.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity and equality, with a passion for supporting the social, emotional, and mental wellbeing of all students.
