As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a dedicated Nurture Mentor to join our team.
Role Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide oneonone support to the student with SEMH needs, focusing on their social, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
- Develop and implement personalized strategies and interventions to support the student's learning and development.
- Foster positive relationships with the student, building trust and rapport to facilitate their engagement and progress.
- Monitor and track the student's progress, adjusting support strategies as needed to address emerging needs and challenges.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff members to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting the student.
- Effectively deescalate challenging behaviour, using appropriate techniques and strategies to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Provide feedback and guidance to staff members on best practices for supporting students with SEMH needs.
Requirements:
- Qualified to HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) level or equivalent.
- Degreelevel qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Psychology, Social Work).
- Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in a school or educational setting.
- Strong understanding of SEMH issues and their impact on learning and development.
- Ability to deescalate challenging behaviour and maintain a calm and supportive demeanour in stressful situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, sharing knowledge and expertise to support student progress.
- Commitment to promoting inclusivity and equality, with a passion for supporting the social, emotional, and mental wellbeing of all students.
