Position Summary:


Position Responsibilities:


  • To ensure the timely processing of vendor invoices, ensuring they are coded accurately in accordance with established accounting systems and HMRC regulations around VAT and the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).
  • To strengthen relationships with vendors by ensuring account statements are reconciled regularly and by resolving invoicing discrepancies either individually or identifying the individual within AAF Limited who can resolve the query.
  • To help maintain and verify banking account details held within the ERP system for vendors to ensure accuracy of payments.
  • Prepare weekly payment runs and set up payments with relevant supporting documentation to allow timely payment of balances due.
  • Review and maintain the AP ledger for old balances, negative balances, balances to be prepaid or anything that appears unusual and report to finance management.

Person Specification:


_ Education, Qualifications and Affiliations_

Essential:

  • Level 3 qualification or equivalent.

Desirable:

  • Relevant certification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, AAT)
Completed qualifications from an accredited institution may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.


_ Experience_
Essential

  • Demonstrable experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Previous experience within an accounting function.
  • Comfortable working on a number of projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of accounting terms and concepts.
  • Understanding of finance principles.
  • Awareness of the concepts of business strategy and methodology.
  • Computer literate and able to learn a wide range of software packages with a focus on Microsoft Excel.
Desirable

  • Previous experience of working in a manufacturing/engineering company.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with an ERP (preferably Microsoft AX or SAP)

Licenses or Certifications:

Essential

  • Eligible to work in the UK.
Desirable

  • Full valid passport.
  • Full driving license.
