Description

The goal of the Markets Operations Risk and Control function is to provide independent oversight, challenge and governance to Markets Operations to enhance proactive identification and management of risk and to ensure that appropriate controls are in place and effective.

This role, as a senior member of the Markets Operations Risk and Control team, involves oversight of the Global Equity, Fixed Income and Futures Operations teams.

Key focus areas include, but are not limited to, partnership with key stakeholders to:

review of current Operational processes and identification/remediation of control gaps; adherence to regulatory obligations; internal policy awareness and adherence; review of new business initiatives; Issue and incident governance; internal and external audit preparation and facilitation.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing and developing a diverse team across multiple physical locations and help attract, develop, retain and recognise a diverse and talented workforce
Proactive reviews of current processes and controls to ensure that appropriate controls are in place and effective
Complete detailed reviews of Operational Risk Events (OREs) ensuring lessons learned are shared with other applicable functions within the organisation
Frequent and thorough Issue management to ensure deliverables remain on track and remediation is sufficiently evidenced
Partnership with various internal and external stakeholders including Operations, Operations Risk Management (ORM), Compliance, Audit, Regulators, and Finance.
Govern timely and appropriate escalation of incidents or concerns upon discover

Job Skills / Qualifications / Competencies:

Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of financial markets, particularly in Equities, Fixed Income and Futures
Exhibit strong organisational and delegation skills to manage multiple longer term deliverables in conjunction with being sufficiently agile to react to immediate requirements
Ability to constructively challenge current processes/controls and drive effective remediation
Display excellent communication skills and ability to develop trusted relationships with multiple levels of management
Analytical with strong attention to detail and enhanced problemsolving skills
Display strong teamworking skills across a diverse, global organisation
Extensive experience in financial markets either in the business or support functions
Bachelors degree preferre
