The Standards, Innovation and Research team are looking for an Assistant Technical Support Consultant on a 12-month secondment. This is a great position for someone looking to gain a technical opportunity within NHBC.

What you'll be doing

  • With an appropriate level of support, provide accurate technical advice and guidance to technical enquiries from a range of individuals, including NHBC colleagues, house builders, construction professionals, product manufacturers, solicitors, management agents and homeowners.
  • Foster good customer relations by giving clear, accurate answers to technical enquires.
  • Review and provide responses to inspection history queries from homeowners, including review and consideration of any related claims issues.
  • Support colleagues within Standards, Innovation and Research in the preparation of NHBC Standards, Technical Guidance, and technical publications.
  • Compile technical information for Building Control Services Ltd and Legal.
  • Responsible for reviewing, updating, and maintaining the technical content of NHBC Apps.
  • Promote and be instrumental in NHBC's purpose to build confidence in the construction quality of new homes.
  • Have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Have a keen interest in housebuilding methods and related technical issues
  • A basic understanding of construction methods, the NHBC Standards and Building Regulations

Education and Qualifications

  • Have or be working towards a relevant construction based qualification is desirable but not required.
Potential applicants are sometimes put off if they don't meet 100% of the requirements.
