Salary:
£30,000 for 32-hour week OR £36,000 for 39-hour week


Location:
Middlesbrough


We are recruiting for an experienced bookkeeper to manage the day to day running of all accounting functions for a Steel Fabrication and Construction business.

This is an independent role and you should be confident in managing the accounts without supervision.

Qualifications are not essential with evidence of experience however a Level 3 Bookkeeping or Accounting qualification is desirable.


Your main duties will be:

  • Sales ledger and credit control
  • Purchase ledger and supplier payments
  • Credit card and staff expenses
  • Petty cash
  • Weekly payroll and pension management/enrolment
  • Subcontract payments
  • Bank reconciliation
  • VAT and CIS returns
  • Journals
  • Yearend processes for accounts and payroll
  • Reception including answering calls and processing in/out mail
  • General administrative and office duties as required


You will also be responsible for the accounts of one other business with mínimal transactions which includes a quarterly VAT return and preparing the accounts for year-end processing.

This should take an average of 1-day per quarter to manage.
