Your new company

A highly successful education business based in South London/Surrey area are seeking a Compliance Officer working initially in the office 5 days a week and then move to a hybrid basis.

There will be a small amount of travel within the South London and SouthEast area.

Your new role

  • Coordinating the review of policies and key documents, including sending calling notices to policy owners, liaising with the CEO's office over submissions to the Main Board, liaising with Human Resources with regards to policy signoff by staff, and draftingpolicy update communications.
  • Maintaining a central policy register, ensuring key documents and SharePoint sites are accurate and kept up to date.
  • Quality assurance of policies, including proofreading, formatting and engaging policy owners over queries regarding content

Website Compliance:

  • Delivering termly academy Website Manager Training and onetoone training to new website managers, as required.
  • Publishing mandatory policies to websites.
  • Maintaining Website compliance documentation.
  • Monitoring completion and maintaining records of 'All Staff Data Protection Awareness Training'; assisting with the delivery and design of data protection awareness training.
  • Assisting with central data protection compliance activity as directed, including: responding to data incidents, preparing communications, liaising with Data Champions, assisting with the compilation of data protection impact assessments and updating thevarious internal Data Protection SharePoint sites.
  • Responsible for managing Freedom of Information (FOIs) requests, including:
  • The tracking and collation of information for FOI requests.
  • Preparation of draft responses to FOI requests for CEO signoff.
  • Maintaining of FOI records via the central register, which records where information is held and a record of all responses/acknowledgments and the information supplied.

What you'll need to succeed

  • You may have a background in general compliance, legal training or data protection or the transferable skills within the compliance field.
  • Ideally you will have experience of data protection and dealing FOI requests within a busy public sector organisation, though other backgrounds will be considered.
  • You should be passionate about the education sector and improving the services offered by the business
  • Experience of working in a professional and highpaced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
