The University of Portsmouth is an ambitious institution with a track record of success.

One of only four universities in the south east of England to achieve a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework and ranked in the top 150 in the Times Higher Young University World Rankings.

ASDAC (Additional Support and Disability Advice Centre) is committed to supporting students and applicants who disclose a disability or additional support need.

There is an opportunity to join this team in a fulltime role as an Assistant Disability Adviser, supporting the Disability Officers and Advisers and working as part of the administrative team.

The postholder will attend Open Days and other events to promote the work of our department and to encourage applicants to make Portsmouth their firm choice.

This may require some out of hour working for which the postholder will be compensated.

We are seeking an individual to inspire applicants to proceed with their offers but also to encourage disabled students to engage with our service.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently as well as part of the wider team.

As one of the first points of contact for ASDAC, the post holder will have a genuine interest in helping applicants and disabled students to access the support and advice they need.

As part of a busy team, you will be able to demonstrate an ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.

Please be aware that this position will require an Enhanced DBS disclosure.

Anonymous shortlisting will be carried out for this role as part of our commitment to equality and diversity, ensuring a fair and consistent approach to recruitment.
