Technical Specialist Confocal (Light Microscopy)


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Core Facilities team within Manchester Metropolitan University as a Confocal (Light microscopy) Technical Specialist.


This post offers the opportunity to be part of our vibrant technical community, developing its services to meet the future university's needs.

Our diverse team of technicians ensure that the university functions efficiently and delivers the levels of student experience both our undergraduates and postgraduates deserve and expect of us.

Working in specialist laboratories, workshops, studios and IT facilities, our technical professionals play a key role in supporting, guiding and advising across our university
, from sciences, art, design and technology to sports, ceramics, nursing and physiotherapy.


We are a forward-looking service committed to a strong culture of continuous improvement, and we are passionate about providing the best customer service to our staff and students.


The Role:


About You:

You will have a flexible approach to work and an ability to work on your initiative.

You will be expected to participate in external networks and user groups, attend relevant events to keep up to date with the latest developments and techniques and share information with colleagues.

Strong communication skills and commitment to the quality service provider will also be essential in succeeding in this post.
