An Out of Centre Play Leader - TERM TIME ONLY to join the team at Swings & Smiles located at Lower Way Thatcham, West Berkshire.

If you have a NQV Level 3, enthusiastic and organised with excellent communication skills with a fun outlook we want to hear from you.

Who are we:

Swings & Smiles was founded in 2007. Based in Thatcham, West Berkshire we deliver services to families in the neighbouring counties of Hampshire, Wiltshire, and Oxfordshire.

We provide an environment where people with special needs and their carers, siblings or the whole family can play together without the pressures often experienced in wider community settings.

Hours are available as follows:

9:00 - 16:00 - 4 days per week, Term Time only

We are also looking for all year-round support on:2 Saturdays per month

Salary:
£12.00 per hour

Main Duties and responsibilities:

This role is to offer support to children and their families in settings outside of the main building.

Swings & Smiles, Out & About, is a project that aims to take the same opportunities provided at our play centre out into the community.

You will work with other providers and the community to identify appropriate venues for delivery of the project.

The role comprises offering a variety of safe and accessible play activities for disabled children, their parents, and siblings, enabling them to:

Access numerous play activities as well as therapeutic resources
Meet new friends and have fun.
Feel understood and accepted.
Develop physically and socially.
Gain independence and build selfconfidence.
Enjoy a stimulating and creative environment.
Have the freedom to explore and take risks.
Be a positive role model for young people and families.
Deliver targeted group work to siblings and young people.
Work on an individual basis with siblings and young people
Offer community play & activities to disabled children & their families, to increase the opportunity of choice.

Full Driving Licence required.
