Reference Data - Assistant Vice President

As a Barclays Reference Data - AVP, you will be transforming strategic ideas into change projects that can be planned and monitored whilst being mindful of risk, budget, and personal conduct.

You will be working in central to Reference Data Operations and IT, Data Functions, and the business, maintaining a governance framework to help drive change initiatives.

There is also a dedicated focus on the Market Data of the department which involves partnering with the Market Data Management team to drive efficiencies and cost saves for the bank.

What will you be doing?:


  • Transforming a strategic idea into a welldesigned change project that can be planned, organized, and tracked
  • Assisting with the management of an extensive project portfolio and ensuring consistent delivery under pressure
  • Assisting with the breakdown of a function, operating model or project into its constituent parts and build it back up better
  • You will be an ambassador for the firm's values demonstrating integrity and courage in their convictions
  • Building trust through credible use of facts and data, and creatively resolving problems and issues at pace
  • Thinking outside of the box and providing quick solutions and resolving project issues in a timely manner

What we're looking for:


  • Solid understanding of Instrument (Equities, Debt, Futures, Options etc.) and Price data, and the Market Data vendors (Bloomberg, Reuters) in this space
  • Knowledge of how Instrument Data can affect the lifecycle of a trade and the consequences of data quality issues
  • Ability to assist with the breakdown of a function, operating model, or project into its constituent parts and build it back up better
  • Ability to transform a strategic idea into a welldesigned change project that can be planned, organised and tracked

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Previous project management experience with a proven track record of delivering under pressure
  • Ability to quantify and drive mitigation of risk at a project level
  • Demonstrate solid analytical skills
  • High level understanding of the trade lifecycle across all asset classes

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links.

With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
