Our operations Byer plays a crucial role in helping to achieve our business growth strategy.

They manage the day to day supply chain operational requirements in a timely, effective & conscientious manner while acting as the primary interface within Redwood Global for all operational supply chain activity on a selected group of product categories.

Their overarching goal is to achieve optimum value on the total cost of ownership through effective ordering, expediting, performance monitoring and supplier relationship management.

ey Responsibilities:


Operational Procurement

  • To collaborate with the Procurement Manager to manage the relationships with suppliers within the assigned categories of spend to achieve the agreed metrics on Quality, Cost & Delivery (QCD) for goods and services purchased by Redwood Global.
  • To manage and maintain the supply of goods & services to Redwood Global within assigned categories of spend.
  • To ensure best value is achieved by analysis and effective processing of material requirements through the ERP system.
  • To expedite material requirements inline with operational needs and forecasted usage.
  • To work with internal & external stakeholders to resolve quality & commercial issues in a prompt & effective manner.

Part Management

  • To be the primary interface for the creation & management of the Supply Chain elements of system
BOM's.

  • To perform validation checks on the cost elements within the BOM structures, ensuring any discrepancies are corrected in line with business requirements and in agreement with major stakeholders.
  • To ensure ERP/ordering system is accurate and maintained to provide quality information for material scheduling & planning purposes.

Inventory Management

  • To deal proactively with warehouse transfers, issues & adjustments as required.
  • To resolve goods receiving issues relating to category suppliers.
  • To action any Engineering change control relating to category suppliers.

Purchase Ledger

  • To undertake material purchase invoice/credit matching/approval.
  • To manage landed cost charges. (Freight & Duty)
  • To liaise with purchase ledger to ensure correct payments, credits etc.

Project Management

  • To assist the Procurement manager on specific business related projects that directly impact the
Procurement function.

  • To create, maintain and publish Procurement related processes and procedures as required by the business and in agreement with the Procurement manager.

General Duties:


  • To promote value for money & effectiveness through the removal of waste systems & process, driving excellence in all that we do through continuous improvement.
  • To comply fully with the Code of Conduct, health and safety requirements, legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • To maintain an overall understanding of the risks and implications associated with the requirements of the role and take appropriate action to mitigate any potential consequences.
  • To attend meetings or provide services outside of the usual working hours where reasonably requested to do so.

Person specification:


Relevant 3 years + previous experience within a Supply Chain or Procurement function within a manufacturing or

experience distribution environment.

Educated to A -Level standard or beyond with CIPS or equivalent Supply Chain Qualification or working towards.


Engineering background and/or the ability to read understand and explain engineering drawings and/or working knowledge of Solid Works strongly preferred.


Skills Able to communicate confidently with outside suppliers and employees at all levels.
Persuade and influence people.

Ability to thrive in pressure-filled situations with aggressive timelines and organise and prioritise personal workload on a daily basis.

Excellent analytical skills and ability to assimilate data from various sources and synthesize inputs into actionable, cost-effective plans.


Personal Friendly and professional with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of a business.
