Team/Function Overview:


The Institutional Clients Group Technology (ICGT) Risk and Controls Team play a critical role for the Head of ICG Technology and their management team to ensure there is well controlled, proactive risk environment for ICGT.

The ICGT Risk and Control Team sits within the First Line of Defence, and is made up of a Central Team, Sector Teams and leverages support from the Enterprise Risk and Control team.

Collectively the three teams work closely with partners in the second and third lines of defense.


The ICGT Operational Risk Identification Lead role sits within the Central ICGT R&C Team, reporting to the Cross ICGT Risk Identification & Remediation Head (Director).


Role / Position Overview:


  • Oversight of the ICGT risk identification and risk mitigation programs
  • Operational Risk Events (such as losses, system outages): own the procedure, provide guidance, and govern ICG Technology's management of Operational Risk Events
  • Partner with Second Line of Defense to provide input in working groups and proposed policy changes and perform impact assessment of changes
  • Oversee and/or perform analysis and thematic reviews to determine trends and drivers for Operational Risk Events
  • Delivery of timely and effective senior management reporting to ensure awareness of current risks, program progress and key events including advising on opportunities to reduce highest risk/impact Operational Risk Events
  • Control Assessments: responsible for overseeing program for control assessments and reporting of results from first line Tech Control Officers
  • Proactively identify new risk indicators and analyze large data sets to detect key themes and risks
  • Evaluate control issues to ensure adequacy of Event Root Cause Analysis and corrective action plans
  • Work with Technology Heads and First, Second, and Thirdline functions in the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of risk remediation programs and processes
  • Governance and oversight
  • Manage a portfolio of projects related to implementing and/or improving elements of the risk management programs across ICGT lines of business and regions

Knowledge/Experience:


  • Risk Management framework experience
  • Organizational awareness with ability to influence stakeholders to achieve results
  • Experienced Program Manager with the ability to independently manage transformation efforts and/or key initiatives and lead global programs
  • Understanding of Managers Control Assessment processes

Skills:


  • Attention to detail and analytical experience
  • Strong problemsolving skills; comfortable tackling complex problems and negotiating ownership
  • Demonstrated Problem Management / Root Cause Analysis skills
  • Excellent Excel and Power Point skills (for different capacities: analytical reviews, project Management, senior management reporting)
  • Exceptional Written and Verbal Communication
  • Interpersonal Skills

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

Competencies:


  • Excellent communication, presentation, people management, time management and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and a keen understanding of business dynamics.
