Location - Canterbury, Kent

Salary - £21,630 to £23,144 Depending on Experience

Do you have previous experience managing kitchen staff in a busy environment?

Have you got knowledge of calculating food percentages and gross profit margins?

We have a fantastic opportunity in Canterbury for a Sous Chef to work for one of our clients.

In this role you will be required to work full time hours working 5 days out of 7 including weekends, overtime is also available.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve food in a commercial kitchen maintaining highquality catering standards
Maintain high standards of service delivery with a professional, flexible, and customer service focussed approach
Order stock from suppliers and process associated paperwork
Adhere to all security measures to safely store inbound goods in appropriate and designated areas
Show awareness and monitor all ingredient costs to ensure an appropriate margin is maintained and prices charged are reflective of commercial requirements
Supervise and motivate kitchen staff ensuring that kitchen staff are trained in agreed practice and technique and that standards of practice are monitored
Other duties as deemed reasonable

Skills and Experience

Intermediate Food Hygiene
Experience managing kitchen staff in a highvolume environment
Experience preparing standard menus and recipes
Knowledge of calculating food percentages and gross profit margins
Call ordering, fine dining, conference catering, and cafeteria production experience
Willing to work flexibly
Excellent communication skills
City & Guilds 706 1 / 2 or equivalent
CIEH Level 3 Supervising Food Safety
