An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and drivenB6 Clinical Team Leader for Health Based Place of Safetyat Farnham Road Hospital, Guildford.


The assessment suites provide a place of safety for people detained by the police under section 136 of the Mental Health Act.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting these people during their time in the suite, being involved in the assessment process and ensuring they are discharged from the suite safely with an appropriate plan of care in place.

This involves multi agency working, paramedics, the police, ward staff and the wider MDT.

As part of the role there will be an expectation to provide clinical leadership to the team.

The post holder will be expected to offer clinical advice for service users, carers, staff and other professionals and to demonstrate advanced competence in highly complex decision making, assessment and management of clinical needs.


  • To assess the care needs, develop & implement plans of care for those who are experiencing acute mental health deterioration or who are in a state of mental health crisis.
  • To lead the team when on shift.
  • To provide clinical interventions that are in line within the policies, protocols, and clinical procedures of the Trust.
  • To work as part of a team providing a patient centred, accessible, and responsive assessment service that is safe, supportive and competent for people who experience acute mental health problems.
  • Provide management supervision to junior members of the team.
  • To undertake managerial duties in the absence of the team manager.
Patterns of working will include covering a 24/7 rota including bank holidays
