Description

The core role of the Assistant Job Coach is to work alongside the relevant Job Coach(es) to provide 1-1 support to interns who are primarily based on an employer site.

The post-holder will help students develop independent life and employability skills.


JOB PURPOSE
Support the charity's Group Supported Internship programme consistently and to a high standard. This provides support for young adults, aged 18-25, who are autistic or have mild to moderate learning difficulties.

Provide 1-1 support to interns on one of our employer sites.


Follow the agreed monitoring and reporting on student progress on a regular basis and ensuring appropriate safeguarding policies are in place.


Ensure that pastoral support is provided to support interns with their social and emotional needs during their period with the charity, as well as their learning objectives.


Principal Responsibilities
Support learners to develop social and employability skills to help them progress into paid employment. This might include techniques such as job carving and systematic instruction (full training will be provided).

Build effective relationships between interns and key stakeholders including employees in the host organisation site.

Ensure the safety of each intern whilst on site and oversee safe travel arrangements to & from work.


Support the Interns with their physical and emotional needs, building confidence and skills through a coaching approach, tailored according to the needs of individual young people.

Ensure that all relevant intern information is held securely & maintained on site as required.


Undertake initial risk assessments for interns and review and update them regularly, ensuring that all students understand personal safety aspects and safe working practice in the workplace.


Promote and safeguard the welfare of Interns including ensuring you follow the safeguarding process and adhere to the safeguarding policy.


Other


Contribute towards building and developing a positive culture and ethos within the charity including positive team working and collaboration amongst all staff.

Act with honesty and integrity and uphold the values of the charity (pioneering, compassionate, person-focused, un-stoppable, authentic).

Maintain high standards in attendance and punctuality with good, personal time management skills.


Ensure that all relevant policies and procedures are followed at all times including (but not exclusively) Health and Safety and Safeguarding.


Take opportunities to continuously learn and grow with a willingness to attend and participate in relevant meetings/professional development opportunities as appropriate.


Be flexible and work according to needs, performing any reasonable duties as requested by the CEO/Line Manager which may involve assisting other areas which are commensurate with the grading of the post.

To ensure all aspects of work are done to the highest standards.

Part-time, Permanent


Salary:
£18,500.00-£20,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends
