    Our team is responsible for developing and maintaining Akamai's object storage platform for Linode. Our enterprise grade solution is an essential element to Akamai's Connected Cloud platform. We provide a scalable and secure storage solution for Linode's customers to build their businesses.

    Senior Software Engineer II ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

    Getting in early on an exceptionally rare and impactful project

    Working with a small team to solve complex issues

    Designing systems that scale

    Working to define the next generation of cloud tooling

    Do what you loveTo be successful in this role you will:

    Demonstrate relevant experience and education in Computer Science or a related field.

    Have proven professional experience in Go or C++.

    Have solid experience building high-performance, reliable systems (profiling, concurrency, memory/latency optimisation, and performance debugging).

    Have shipped production software end-to-end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, triage, incident response, and root‐cause analysis.

    Show proven experience in designing and improving complex distributed systems, particularly with performance‐critical system development expertise.

    Be comfortable working in an Agile development environment (iterative delivery, reviews, planning, and continuous improvement).
