At Prostate Cancer UK, we believe that every man's life is unique and remarkable.

Now is an incredibly exciting time to join our organisation because we're on a mission to give every man the power to navigate this complex disease.

We're investing millions in research to revolutionise testing, treatment and care and blazing a trail to a screening programme that could save thousands of lives with regular, accurate tests for all men at risk.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. Every year over 12,000 men die from prostate cancer.

However, we know that risk among the Black community is much higher - 1 in 4 Black men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime.

That's twice the risk of other men.

In support of our important mission, we're looking to recruit a pivotal new role, an Associate Director of Black Health Equity.

This role will help us save lives within the Black community as ethnicity shouldn't impact your chances of survival or quality of care.

And equally as important, it will help us transform our organisation and the wider health system so that everyone has access to the healthcare they need and at a point when they need it.

You'll be a leader with a strong record of campaigning and building communities, comfortable with challenging established ways of thinking and collaborating with and influencing a wide range of external stakeholders.

You'll be experienced in supporting organisations to be able to make fundamental and long-lasting system change.

The role will spearhead a programme of work that will transform our charity. We're committed to becoming a leading advocate for changing the outcomes and experiences of Black men with prostate cancer. By driving systemic changes in research, treatment and raising awareness, our ultimate goal is to save more Black lives.

We aspire to achieve this by educating ourselves, our colleagues, and our peers across the charity and healthcare sectors and strongly believe we can create generational change.

Working closely with organisations and individuals at the heart of Black communities, we've been gathering vital insight and incorporating lived experience to shape our health information and support services.

We've established out Black Men's Health Advisory group - made up of patient, clinicians and community leaders - and we're partnering with Black community groups who are already doing great work to advance Black health equality.
