Role & Key Responsibilities:

Perform quality inspection and pre work requirements on work in-progress and finished products including First Article Inspections and Initial Sample Inspections

  • Conduct daily "patrol" inspections on the factory floor, assisting operators in identifying nonconforming processes to standards and identifying rework requirements.
  • Monitor the quality of all manufactured products, ensuring that all operatives adhere to procedures for all activities and that works are carried out in accordance with the agreed specification.
  • Maintain regular dialog and communications with the production departments to observe and report any issues/anomalies as soon as possible and to be the catalyst to finding solutions to resolve any problems.
  • NCR input and corrective action feedback & response, support the root cause analysis, with clear and thorough inspection feedback.
  • Support the Quality team in the efficient running of the QMS System.
  • Create and maintain inspection records to accurately reflect end to end product manufacturing and packaging activities
  • Ensure correct calibration of measuring equipment used in manufacture and inspection. Appraisal of new measuring equipment and / or techniques to ensure cost effectiveness
  • Verify dimensional accuracy of parts, tools or Jigs to drawing/CAD used in the manufacturing process and communicate with internal production teams and external suppliers in a clear and concise manner.
  • Review & approve relevant supplier documentation such as weld procedures, NDE procedures, and material certification etc in accordance with code & client requirements
  • Making sure that the inspection and quarantine areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Any other reasonable management request.

Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes:

Proven quality inspection working in a manufacturing environment (sheet metal / fabrication) - essential

Ability to read engineering drawings/standards and use conventional measuring equipment - essential

Experience in checking first and last offs and final inspection of welded fabricated parts - essential

Background knowledge of laser and paint / finish production methods/process - desirable

Good attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy and a commitment to quality

Able to work on & use own initiative & problem solve

Strong communication, team working & people skills
