PURPOSE:


  • To provide FRTB market risk capital analysis.
  • To help prepare global Front Office, Capital Management and Risk Management staff for the implementation of the new FRTB market risk capital regime through direct training and comparative analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

**Capital Impact

  • Conduct regular indepth capital impact analysis of FRTB across various asset classes and various reporting levels and socialising the results with Senior Stakeholders and users.
  • Provide bespoke capital impact analysis and whatif scenarios in response to requests from Business and Desk Heads, Risk and Capital Managers.
  • Validate FRTB capital numbers generated from SIT, UAT and Production environments as required for newly implemented/modified capital models.
  • Reconcile, where necessary, the output from tactical and strategic system implementations.
  • Support Financial Markets Business in the definition of the FRTB desk structure by performing comparative capital analysis.
  • Summarise regular capital analysis results in intuitive charts & tables and present the content to wider audiences, including Accountable Executives, Executive and Risk Committees.
**QIS, Regulatory & Industry Engagement

  • Understand and remain up to date with all relevant capital regulation, local interpretation and procedures including internal and external rules applicable to the conduct of the business.
  • Assist in the delivery of regulatory Quantitative Impact Studies (QIS) returns for FRTB market risk, across multiple regulators.
  • Assist in regulatory engagement including written and verbal feedback and the drafting of specific responses to regulatory questions.
  • Assist in the provision of returns to industry hypothetical portfolios benchmarking exercises, including the annual ISDA benchmarking exercise and other, local regulatory benchmarking exercises.
**Training & Knowledge Transfer

  • Part of authoring and delivery team for FRTB Capital Insights training (for FO, CM & RM staff)
  • Part of authoring and delivery team for FRTB QIS tools (for FO, CM & RM staff)
**Capital Reporting

  • Assist in the requirements acquisition, design and prototyping of strategic FRTB capital management information system (for internal users).
  • Assist in the Requirements acquisition, design and prototyping of regulatory capital reporting (for external submission).

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Technical Skills: A solid risk and pricing quantitative background with strong analysis and reasoning competency; comfortable working with a variety of programming languages (Python etc.).


Able to acquire and resolve business requirements from a diverse user base - capital management and reporting; capital optimisation; risk management; and business heads - and articulate effectively to implementation teams across quantitative developmentand technology.
