Marketing & Sales Assistant - perfect opportunity for a marketing, PR, or digital marketing graduate.

Salary:
£19-23k depending on experience


Location:
MediaCityUK, Manchester

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone aspiring to a career in marketing, communications, or digital marketing (e.g. marketing/PR graduates, qualified digital marketing apprentices).


We're looking for someone who has a passion for marketing and lots of potential, but who just hasn't had a chance to show it off yet.


About us
Saturn Communications Group (SCG) is made up of three businesses UVU, SVS, and SPS. Our UVU and SVS businesses offer digital signage services to some of the UK's biggest brands (e.g. VW, AO, Seiko), and SPS offers specialist print services to the leisure industry (e.g Odeon).

You'll have the chance to work in a small, friendly team and get practical experience in lots of different areas of marketing (e.g. SEO, PPC, PR, content creation, brand, analytics).

You'll also be working with guidance from a marketer with over 20 years' experience and who's worked for brands like Specsavers, easyJet, and Panasonic.

We'll encourage you to be creative and come up with your own ideas.

If you have a passion for a particular area of marketing, there'll be lots of opportunity to take a lead on your own small projects.


This will be a split-role with your time spent on both marketing activity and supporting the sales team, which will give you valuable experience in appreciating how the sales and marketing functions fit together, and how one affects the other.


Your duties

Your duties will include things like:
Marketing

  • Writing blogs and adding new content to website and optimising it for SEO
  • Writing and posting social media updates
  • Managing a photo library and resizing images
  • Chasing up client approvals/feedback on case studies
  • Using marketing and sales information dashboards to update reports
  • Copy checking marketing/PR materials
  • Writing & putting together enewsletters
  • Taking photographs for marketing purposes
  • Assisting with events and exhibitions
Sales

  • Assisting sales team with admin
  • Requesting hardware quotes from suppliers using info supplied by the sales team
  • Updating the CRM system
  • Arranging appointments between sales team and potential clients
  • Checking sales leads received from the website, adding them to the CRM and allocating them to a member of the sales team

Essential characteristics/skills/qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Lots of common sense and the ability to use your own initiative
  • Marketing, PR, digital marketing, or content creation qualification (e.g. apprenticeship, diploma, degree, certificate)
  • Ability to make notes, plan your own workload, and stick to deadlines
  • Ability to use MS Word, MS Powerpoint, MS Excel
  • Ability to work in a team and unsupervised
  • 5 GCSEs at A*C (or equivalent) including maths and English language
  • Fast learner who can multitask and manage changing priorities (you'll be working in a fairly fastpaced, dynamic environment)
  • A 'can do' attitude and willingness to be flexible
  • An eye for detail

Types of desirable practical experience

  • Previous admin experience
  • Practical online or offline marketing experience
  • Social media savvy (i.e. experience of using social media channels (Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram), garnering engagement and getting followers)
  • Blogging experience
  • Experience using digital marketing software packages (e.g. Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Canva)
