The Home First Team is an integrated multi-disciplinary team that provides short term, rehabilitation and health interventions to enable people to maximise their independence and meet their health and social care needs within North Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent.


The post holder will be required to providing direct administrative support to the North Home First Operational Management Team as well as coordinating and supporting the work of the North Home First Team to meet strategic and operational objectives.


The post holder will provide direct line management to the North Home First Administration Team across 3 bases in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire and will be responsible for the management of internal projects, leadership of implementation of internal and Trust policies and provide a high level administrative professional advice and support to staff at all levels.


  • Work on own initiative with mínimal supervision to prioritise and deliver own work and that of the North Home First Operational Management Team in meeting organisational objectives.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Outlook
  • Arrange appropriate representation at meetings for the North Home First Operational Management Team.
  • Manage the diaries of the Operational Management Team to coordinate team activities and absences
  • Assist the Integrated Service Manager with monthly Nominal Roll, leave and expense returns as required, providing reports as necessary
  • Arrange and service multiorganisational meetings at Operational level including drafting agendas, collating and circulating documentation, the production of formal minutes and progress chasing. Arrange and coordinate multiorganisational briefings, learning huddles, training workshops, and events including the selection of venue, provision of all equipment and required attendee availability.
  • Arrange appropriate representation at meetings.
  • Draft reports and outcome letters for the North Home First Teams in accordance to Trust Policy. To provide the outcome within the set timescales following the formal investigation by the team which may include PALs, complaint, HR, serious incident, coroner's Inquest. The post holder will work in close collaborative working with the MPFT Corporate Teams to demonstrate the teams' compliance.
  • Provide cross cover within the North Home First Administration Support Team

  • Make decisions and take actions on behalf of and/or in the absence of the North Home First Operational Management Team, within delegated authority regarding correspondence, issues, activities and requests for information etc.
  • Maintain a broad and uptodate knowledge of NHS procedures, policies and processes, undertaking inhouse training/mentoring where necessary. This should include North Home First specific and general NHS terminology.
  • Manage and assist with projects on behalf of the North Home First Operational Management Team.
  • Communicate confidential, sensitive, or complex information on behalf of self and others including commercially sensitive, personnel, project and budgetary data.
  • Utilise tact, diplomacy and negotiation skills to seek cooperation and agreement on joint initiatives from Customer representatives within the shared service model.
  • Arrange suitable representation for the Operational Management in their absence for Customer meetings.
