Description
Ensure all prescription requests are processed and are ready for collection within a 48-hour timeframe e. Generate requests for medication on behalf of the patient for non-repeat items f. Actively encourage patients to reconcile medications to facilitate monthly collections. Liaise with appropriate clinicians to bring all medicine review dates into line g.

Discuss with patients their requirements, encouraging patients to order only what they require h. Act upon compliance issues, liaising with the appropriate clinician i. Ensure medication reviews are arranged by maintaining an accurate recall system j. Ensure high risk medications are monitored and maintain an accurate recall system k.

Effectively liaise with external services i.e. district nurses to ensure medicaments are arranged for housebound patients l. Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary m. Deal with all prescription related enquiries in a timely manner n.

Record and reported adverse effects accurately and appropriately, informing the practice manager immediately o. Read code data on SystmOne link medication to problems p. Carry out system searches as requested q. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times r.

Implement a project to actively increase the number of patients signed up to the online ordering system. s. To become the practice champion for problem solving online medication ordering issues. t.

To work with the medicines delivery person to ensure the home delivery service is efficient and financially viable u. Support the Practice as required. v. Partake in audits as directed by the Practice w.


Support the Practice in reviewing, updating or creating protocols and procedures This document may be amended following consultation with the post holder, to facilitate the development of the role, the practice and the individual.

All personnel should be prepared to accept additional, or surrender existing duties, to enable the efficient running of the practice.
