Description
We are looking for a motivated individual to join Islington Tree Service as a Tree Inspector.
The Tree Inspector will be responsible for undertaking cyclical programmed tree inspections for our internal and external clients within Islington and the London area.
Cyclical tree maintenance ensures that the Tree Service fulfils the Council's and external client's Duty of Care to trees that they are responsible for.
The tree inspector main duty is to support the Principal Tree Officer in ensuring that the Tree Service achieves:- Meeting the council's duty of care in respect of trees
- Increasing Customer Satisfaction with the Tree Service
- Improving the health and canopy cover of the Urban Forest
As a Tree Inspector, you will need to be knowledgeable, highly motivated, an effective team player, and have the ability to understand and meet targets and deadlines.
The majority of the trees on Council owned land are recorded on our tree database, Ezytreev.
Having some experience of using tree database software would be valuable and a good ability to identify tree species is essential.
The Tree Service team sits within Greenspace and leisure in the Environment division. Working under the direction of the Principal Tree Officer, you will join a friendly and motivated team.
The Tree Service operate a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year emergency call out service.

To assist the Principal Tree Officer in the work of the section, ensuring that the council's Tree Policy is implemented.
To inspect trees in council ownership on a cyclical basis, undertaking a Visual Tree Inspection with a view to their safety and maintenance requirements.
To support the Senior Tree Inspector with undertaking surveys related to the production ofBS5837:2012 Trees in relation to design, demolition & construction.
To identify potential locations for tree planting.
To monitor works undertaken by the council's tree work contractor to ensure adherence to specification and are also being carried out in accordance to health and safety regulations.
To assist with the monitoring of development sites.
To occasionally inspect trees in council ownership on a responsive basis with a view to their safety and maintenance requirements, and arrange for subsequent tree maintenance work as required.
