Description
To provide a supporting role to the Administration Manager for the various teams

Ensuring adequate staffing is available to provide an efficient and effective service to patients and to ensure that designated tasks for staff are undertaken within the specialities

To be responsible are appropriately trained in line with Trusts policies and procedures.

To facilitate the ongoing service development within the specialities

Processing and implementin theGIM rota for consultants

Working and implementing clinics and procedure lists

Supporting and guiding teams

To provide supervisory support to all non-clinical staff within the Administration Teams.


To ensure all teams are adequately staffed within the various admin teams to ensure minimum staffing levels are maintained at all times where appropriate in line with Trust directives.


To liaise closely with the Administration Assistants, Medical Staff and Secretarial Staff and to undertake all associated tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Admin Office.

To ensure that appointments are made in the department in line with the Trusts policies and procedures.

To provide support for the clerical staff with the patient pathway. Ensuring that at all times the Trust Targets and the Trust Access Policy.

To manage and co-ordinate the clerical activities of the department. Taking responsibility for the standard and quality of the work within the department. Including the raising of E-proc and stationary orders by the various units

To liaise with medical, nursing, administrative, paramedical and support staff as required.


To ensure that any necessary Patients Charter monitoring processes are carried out and to be responsible for the collection of Hospital Statistics and forward these onto the appropriate departments.

To liaise with Patient and Patient's relatives as and when necessary.

To participate in the recruitment and selection of new staff in accordance with the Trust's Recruitment and Selection Policy. To ensure that both Bank and Substantive staff are monitored and finalised via E Roster appropriately.


To produce written statements when required by a Manager, following an involvement with any incident at work or witnessing any incident involving a patient or any other member of staff or visitor (authorised or unauthorised).

Observe health and safety, fire and any other Trust policies.

Any other ad hoc duties which the holder may reasonably be asked to perform.
