This post is an excellent opportunity to progress your career and is suitable for any motivated Rehabilitation Officer with the appropriate qualifications, skills and knowledge around the support needs of people with a visual impairment.
The Cheshire East Council Sensory Impairment service is innovative and works closely with our community colleagues, with whom we have developed strong partnerships to improve outcomes for residents with a visual impairment within Cheshire East.
Additionally, this role also provides a wide range of learning and training opportunities and joint working across traditional boundaries.
You will provide practical, physical, psychological and emotional support through assessments and interventions for adults and paediatric clients with a visual impairment.
Individuals may present with physical, learning, or mental health needs that impact on their ability to manage within their home environment.
You will identify and support independence and safety in a person-centred way through mobility training and the provision of equipment for those that are eligible.
What we are looking for:
- An enthusiastic and selfmotivated individual, who can work well independently and as part of a wider team.
- To have a recognised qualification in Visual Impairment studies
- It will be essential for the post holder to work autonomously within the Council's policies and professional practice, in addition to maintaining accurate and comprehensive client documentation.
The office base for the postholder will generally be at Macclesfield Town Hall but we have various Hubs that can also be utilised.
