Role Purpose

  • This role has responsibility for answering medical information enquiries across a range of therapeutic areas and preparing scientific documentation for internal and external customers.
  • The role is responsible for all the activities related to the launch, implementation of Med Info & Intake Global System (MIIGS) and Polaris and integration with MMD system of record COVE and Pharmacovigilance PV Smart.
  • This role is also responsible for conducting all process assurance activities as they relate to the outsource provision of the designated point of contract (DPOC) to ensure the correct intake, classification and triage of enquiries and responses to medical information requests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting all process assurance activities relating to outsource provision of DPOC and medical information
  • Generating bespoke responses to address third line enquiries and preparing scientific documentation for internal and external customers
  • Localising Global Scientific Response Documents (SRDs) for local use
  • Reviewing and approving UKspecific SRDs to respond to MI enquiries
  • Performing process assurance of SRDs
  • Providing internal resource for product knowledge and responds to internal scientific enquiries
  • Ensuring inspection and audit readiness for DPOC and MI activities
  • Supporting the technical and scientific review of promotional materials and nonpromotional materials for assigned therapeutic areas, ensuring compliance with ABPI Code of Practice, statutory and Company requirements
  • Ability to proactively resolve moderately complex problems
  • Ability to accurately interpret / critically appraise literature
  • Ability to prioritise effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively within Medical Affairs and cross functionally with handling units, Regulatory, Marketing, Legal and External Affairs
  • Requires liaison with HCPs and patients in provision of medical information. Internal stakeholders include PV, CCHU, Global Security, Regulatory, Marketing, Legal, and External Affairs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in life science, Pharmacy, nursing or equivalent healthcare qualification
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred
  • 12 years Medical Information experience
  • Writing scientific documents in a pharmaceutical company settin
  • Ability to translate analytical /critical appraisal skills and competence across therapeutic areas to add value
  • Ability to proactively engage with internal stakeholders
  • Ability to resolve moderately complex problems
  • Literature searching skills and IT literacy
  • Professional, very good communication skills both verbal and written, high attention to detail, good interpersonal skills
