Located in Latchingdon CM3 6HB all four companies are run independently._

WE ARE BASED BETWEEN SOUTH WOODHAM FERRERS AND BURNHAM ON CROUCH THERE IS NO PUBLIC TRANSPORT SO OWN TRANSPORT IS ESSENTIAL-


The group requires a highly professional and reliable Part Time Bookkeeper who will be responsible for the daily activities of accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger accounts.

The Bookkeeper will also assist with other financial functions as needed. The Bookkeeper will report to the Director of Accounting.

The role requires someone who is efficient, organised and great at communication. Has the understanding and ability to meet customer expectations and time frames.

  • Purchase Ledger: ensure all payments are made on time, working in conjunction with the Finance Director
  • Post Intercompany transactions including foreign currency transactions
  • Assisting the Finance Director and accountants to produce the quarterly VAT Returns
  • Using Sage Line 50
- record all financial information
- process all billing
- process reconciliations
- maintain purchase ledger
- bank reconciliation

  • Insurance administration: manage policy renewals
  • The post holder will also be given other tasks from time to time as required

Essential - The person in this role will:
Have a proven track record of at least 2 years in finance

Have excellent organisation skills with the ability to structure processes and set up efficient systems to support the companies continued growth

Be consistent and accurate and have an eye for detail

Have experience in and be committed to following careful procedures to protect the sensitive personal data involved in this role

Have excellent numerical skills

Learn quickly, be adaptable, flexible and able to work in the ever-changing context of a growing organisation

Be able to take the initiative and take a creative problem-solving approach

Have well-developed interpersonal skills, working well independently and as part of a small team, and collaborating well with colleagues

Desirable - The person in this role will ideally also have experience of working with Sage Line 50

This post is initially a one -year contract, with a six-month probationary period. However the intention is that the post becomes permanent.

Hours Monday

  • Thursday 9.00am3.00pm, 30min lunch break 22hrs per week.
