Description
Sustainability Consultant
Do you want a key role in a small but growing environmental sustainability business? Due to our strong reputation for quality work, we are generating more demand than we can comfortably handle and are seeking an additional sustainability consultant to join our team.
About us
Based in Brighton, but working across the UK we exist to help the built environment meet net zero goals.
For over 12 years, we've been working with owners of commercial properties, helping them reduce energy usage and get compliant with legislation.
We're totally flexible about working time, and encourage our team to improve, take training courses, or even take time out for charity work or special interests.
We're looking for a long term team member with a life attitude that matches ours. We encourage individual responsibility and initiative, whilst being fastidious about the quality of the services we deliver. Most of our work involves surveying and modelling buildings using IES software.
From these models we produce a range of outputs such as non-domestic EPCs, MEES reports, and general consultancy for our clients.
Your role
Your primary focus will be the delivery of all our consultancy products and services to a wide range of clients.
- Energy Performance Certificates (EPC)
- ESOS compliance reports
- Display Energy Certificates (DEC)
- Air Conditioning Inspections (TM44)
- Streamline Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR)
You'll be expected to liaise closely with clients and be able to deliver the follow-up consultancy discussions and engagement with clients.
Most of our work is in London and the South East of England, but potentially we could ask you to travel anywhere in the UK.
This is a home-based role, but you will be supported by the whole LED team including our remote IES modellers.
About you
- You will be a naturally strong communicator, enjoying liaising with clients.
- You'll be well presented
- You'll be capable of adapting your communication style to fit the situation, for example dealing with professional building managers as well as landlords and intermediaries
- You'll be thorough and organised in data collection, processing and storage. You'll enjoy the challenge of running scenarios and using your mathematical skills to come up with creative energy saving ideas.
- You'll be a selfstarter, willing to take on responsibility and deliver high quality output to meet client deadlines.
- You'll have strong IT skills, fully capable across the range of Microsoft office products and ideally you'll be familiar with IESVE software.
Qualifications:
- You will have a first degree in engineering or a related discipline.
- You will have worked for an organisation involved in the built environment and be familiar with commercial property construction, heating & cooling systems and controls.
- You will have 2 years'+ experience as a sustainability consultant, energy consultant or nondomestic assessor delivering a range of consultancy services
- Nondomestic energy assessor qualifications to level 3 and 4 will be required as you will need to lodge EPCs under your own name.

- Salary of £35,000£45,000 depending on experience
