The Adult Community service line is advertising for a full-time Clinical Service Lead (band 8a), for Richmond.

About the team:

The Adult Community service line delivers care to adult mental health clients across the five boroughs of the Trust. The service line employs over 700 staff, and we care for up to 12,000 patients a year.

Our services include community single point of access teams, recovery and support teams, IAPT and primary care services, early intervention teams, complex needs services for personality disorders, clozapine clinics, psychotherapy and psychology services.


You will be working closely with colleagues across the Richmond Borough (internal and external) and wider Trust Community Service Line to deliver high standards of patient centred care within key quality domains.

We embrace agile working and support clinical managers to work flexibly around the needs of their services. The principle working locations for the Merton Clinical Manager is the Wilson Hospital, Mitcham.

  • The post holder will deputise for the clinical manager in their absence
  • Participate in the Trust On-Call Senior Manager rota and ensure that all concerns are escalated appropriately
  • Ensure there is compliance with professional bodies code of conduct as well Trust policies and procedures and support the management of employees performance, attendance and any breaches of discipline.
  • Support the Clinical Manager and team leaders to manage poor performance and develop the confidence and skills of team leaders to ensure that staff performance, sickness and absence are effectively managed.
  • Alongside the Clinical Manager the post holder will take a lead on the delivery of the quality aspects of community transformation.
  • In conjunction with the clinical manager the post holder will support safer staffing establishment and appropriate skill mixes in community settings
  • Implement an effective local retention and recruitment strategy for the borough and to take a lead in ensuring that all new staff receive an effective induction so that they may fully meet the requirements of their role.
  • Support the Clinical manager to regularly review existing staffing and ensure resources are deployed in the most appropriate and efficient ward ad identify staff shortages or exceptional demands and act accordingly.
