About the Role:


South Rural PCN has an opportunity for a PCN support officer to join us, as a key member of the PCN operational team, whose over-arching goal is to provide high-quality administrative and project support to the PCN.

The role is offered on either a full or part-time basis.


The PCN support officer will work under the guidance of the PCN leadership team, as well as using their own initiative to maintain the effective delivery of key projects, including the provision of information and analysis.

This will be achieved through the effective use of information, data, knowledge and technology systems, to inform and support PCN agreed initiatives and meet the needs of the local population.


The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • building good working relationships with the clinical directors, practice managers and clinical leads at each practice, and facilitating collaboration between practices and the wider system, to support delivery of care to patients;
- ensuring that the PCN are aware of upcoming deadlines and claims, and that submissions are made in a timely manner;
- organising meetings and events related to PCN activities, including taking minutes;
- managing PCN actions and deadlines to ensure that these are met in a timely manner;
- assisting the PCN manager with the monitoring of the performance of the PCN, against contractual requirements;
- supporting recruitment and ongoing human resource processes of ARRS staff.

The job holder will carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by their line manager.

  • Experienced medical administrators, with excellent IT and typing skills;
  • Adaptable and friendly, with strong administration, time management and organisational skills;
  • Excellent communicators able to work in a confidential and discreet manner;
  • Able to "think on their feet" in a busy working environment;
  • Able to multitask, work hard and maintain a high level of attention to detail, when under pressure;
  • Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, as well as comfortable working independently.

About Us:

South Rural PCN was formed in June 2019, with five like-minded practices wanting to provide a joined up service for local communities.

To achieve this we are looking to reshape our clinical teams by developing new and exciting skill mixes, which not only diversify our workforce, but allows us to provide a better care package for our patients.


The PCN provides services to 56,000 patients across rural Suffolk and is headed by 2 proactive, supportive and committed clinical directors.


Our PCN includes the following practices:

Bildeston Health Centre, Constable Country Medical Practice (East Bergholt and Capel St Mary), Hadleigh Health Centre (Boxford), The Holbrook and Shotley Surgery and Needham Market Country Practice.


We use SystmOne clinical system and consult with our patients using a range of methods from face-to-face, video, telephone and eConsult.

Our practices offer the full range of primary care services. We achieve consistently high QOF and CQC results. We are active and respected members of Suffolk and North East Essex ICB. We offer extended hours appointments to our patients. We provide an enhanced health in care homes service to the 16 care homes across our area.
