Stores Operative - HMP Brixton - £23,000 per year


Job objectives and responsibilities-

  • Work as part of the Stores team
  • Supervison of Prisoner with bin collections, litter picking, laundry
  • Stock control

Main duties

  • Assist with goods in and out.
  • Assist with orders and deliveries to all departments.
  • Liaise effectively with other departments.
  • Store person general duties
  • General stores/laundry/back gate security
  • Assist Prisoners pay
  • Assist with the bins and grounds
  • General labourer duties

Person Specification

  • Strong and effective communication skills.
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise
  • IT skills
  • Lives close to Brixton
  • Ability to pass Prison Service vetting.

Health and Safety responsibilities

  • Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times;
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;
