An esteemed specialist school, dedicated to providing day and residential support for young individuals with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, urgently seeks a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.


As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in preparing students for adulthood through tailored academic and vocational study programs, fostering independence and facilitating employment or further education.

Collaborating with their exceptional educational team, you'll bolster resilience, confidence, self-esteem, emotional intelligence, and overall well-being in these children and young adults.

This school is deeply committed to supporting the holistic development of every student, working closely with families, the community, and relevant authorities to provide comprehensive support to all learners.


Catering to children and young adults aged 7-19, this setting offers outstanding training and developmental opportunities, encompassing both primary and secondary provisions.


Responsibilties:

  • Providing support to students during classes to ensure they stay on track.
  • Collaborating with class teachers to maintain a smooth learning environment.
  • Facilitating students' access to the curriculum.
  • Addressing learners' pastoral needs.
  • Contributing actively to the learning environment setup.
  • Supporting learners individually and in small groups throughout various activities.
  • Utilizing your interests to engage learners in the learning process.

Requirements:


  • Ability to work with learners with diverse learning difficulties.
  • Own transportation (desirable but not mandatory).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Desirable: NVQ Level 2 in Teaching and Learning, GCSE Maths and English or equivalent qualifications.
