Description
Are you passionate about making a difference and enjoy working as part of a larger team?

Are you eager to use your skills to provide excellent care and progress your career?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Medical Secretary in our Psychiatry Department within Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) based in Reading at Prospect Park Hospital with the option to adopt a flexible hybrid working pattern.

The benefits of joining our team include excellent learning and development opportunities, competitive pay and leave arrangements, flexible working opportunities, advanced IT enablement and support, childcare vouchers and so much more.

Reading is a vibrant and diverse town situated to the West of London.

It has all the bustle one would want from a large urban conurbation and the tranquillity afforded by the Thames and the surrounding countryside.

Applicants will need to be enthusiastic and able to work flexibly and reliably to provide professional secretarial support for the medical teams in order to contribute to the delivery of outstanding care to our patients.

Applicants should have the ability to think calmly and logically under pressure and have a positive attitude to maintaining high standards of work at all times, and able to demonstrate excellent communication skills as you will be the first point of contact for the medical team.

You will be quick to learn, be able to work as part of a team but also possess the ability to work unsupervised, using your own initiative.

Strong organisation skills are essential as you will be responsible for arranging clinic appointments for Consultants, psychiatrists and Junior Trainee Dr's within the team.

This will involve collating and organising multiple diaries, booking appointments on RiO, communicating with patients, carers and other organisations and booking rooms.

We are a Community Mental Health Team providing a wide range of services to the Adult population of Reading who experience severe and enduring mental health problems.

We look to offer innovative and high standards of care which focuses on the needs of the individual on their personal recovery journey.

To help achieve this we work closely with partner organisations, carers and our service users to build an effective and supportive care pathway.
