The Role
The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) will take lead responsibility for all safeguarding and safer recruitment matters arising in and outside of the Apprentify Group businesses and will support all other members of staff in relation to any safeguarding or protection issues.
The DSL will own the whole Safeguarding strategy and annual policy ensuring that all staff and processes meet our high standards, especially around safeguarding.
Responsibilities
- To take lead responsibility for safeguarding across Apprentify Ltd and help support Group safeguarding processes.
- To ensure the implementation of the company's Child Protection Policy and other safeguarding processes and procedures
- To contribute to effective partnership working between all those involved with providing safeguarding.
- To provide daytoday advice and guidance to staff to enable them to discharge their responsibilities in safeguarding all
- To deal with any disclosures or events that need support and provide ongoing support until each has been closed
- Be responsible for keeping detailed, accurate, secure records of concerns, allegations and referrals
- Communicate regularly with the board and attend monthly board safeguarding meetings and will discuss (anonymously) any cases/themes of concern.
- Attend Senior Leadership meetings, as required, to discuss Safeguarding practices and propose amendments as required.
- Keep the SLT informed of all concerns and allegations relating to Safeguarding

Requirements:
- Must have experience working within a variety of educational settings (Ideally Post 16 Apprenticeships and funded learning).
- Experience in multisite and remote learner safeguarding management
- Experience in raising awareness and coaching staff on Safeguarding topics
- Ability to change priorities quickly, capacity to handle multiple tasks, and perform at high velocity
- Full driving license required
- Welldeveloped ICT skills to support all areas of record keeping
- Good organisational skills to manage workload and prioritise accordingly / safely
- Ability to plan time effectively and to meet deadlines
- Ability to contribute to the design of uptodate training materials required
- Ability to prioritise to meet the needs of the learners and apprentices.
- Ability to develop original techniques, methods and solutions
- Be a team player
