My client is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to join the team, this is a role where you will contribute to designing smarter commercial workspaces in new and renovated buildings.

You will work closely with the design and construction teams to transform concept designs into reality, focusing on producing technical and construction packages.

Compliance with building codes, creating productive working environments, and maintaining effective client relationships are key aspects of this role.


Responsibilities:


  • Produce technical and construction packages for commercial workspaces.
  • Provide technical input during the concept stage for a smooth transition to construction.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the interior design team to create creative and cohesive workspaces.
  • Understand and fulfil client requirements through effective communication.
  • Research concepts and materials to address technical challenges.
  • Consider materials, risks, labour, and costs within client budgets.
  • Coordinate tasks and provide onsite recommendations during construction.
  • Assist with client presentations and recommend suitable furniture and finishes.
  • Stay updated on workplace design trends and statutory regulations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • 3+ years of relevant interior design experience in commercial office retrofit projects.
  • Strong technical detailing skills and knowledge of regulations.
  • Understanding of contractors' proposals and change control.
  • Proficiency in Revit and knowledge of furniture systems and finishes.
  • Ability to lead technical packages and review drawings.
  • Experience overseeing design development through construction.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized and able to work under pressure.
  • Full UK driving license preferred.
