College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine; Communications, Marketing and Engagement

Fixed-term contract (35 hours per week)

Fixed term (12 month contract)


We are looking for an experienced communications professional with strong social media skills to lead on social media activity for the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine across our Instagram, Twitter, FaceBook and LinkedIn channels whilst covering a colleague's maternity leave.


This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.

We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.


The Opportunity:


The post holder also leads on much of the communications to our Edinburgh Medical School students including preparation of In Vivo our medical student newsletter issued three times a year, contributes to recording of podcasts, organisation of an annual medical students debate and other events.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Substantial experience of working with digital communications channels
  • Experience of events and/ or project management, including digital events
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in producing and editing audio/ visual content
