**Operational Estates Manager
3-month contract - NHS Trust, London
£361 per day

Hybrid Working**
Overview:Responsible for providing safe and efficient day to day operational management of building and engineering services to the Trust retained estate property portfolio and other occupied space.

Ensuring the service delivery is satisfactory and is responsive to clients' requirements at all times.

You will also be responsible for setting, monitoring, and reporting the Estates and Facilities Directorate's compliance performance with respect to statutoryand HTM requirements Trust wide.

Act as the Trust's specialist for all engineering and maintenance matters giving professional advice on such issues as Health and Safety compliance, energy management, building services.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop relationships with a range of private sector Partners / Contractors in order to outsource services where appropriate, to ensure cost effective and best value is obtained.
  • Lead necessary consultation processes with staff, Local Authority, local, voluntary organisations and users regarding premises and estates matters.
  • To undertake complex risk assessments and deliver targeted and proportionate recommendations.
  • Managing the Trust's retained estate operations services appertaining to all engineering maintenance / building / equipment together with managing selected minor project schemes.
  • Undertake responsibility as Authorised Person in relation to specified technical operational procedures. Take full active role in the interpretation of alltechnical policies and guidelines.
  • Participate in the Estates' Service emergency on call rota.
  • Makes judgments and takes decisions on a wide range of estates issues

Qualifications and Skills:


  • High degree of specialized knowledge in the Engineering, Facilities and project management fields.
  • Qualified to degree level, preferably with postgraduate qualification or post qualification training and experience to masters level in management or related disciplines.
  • Chartered Engineer through membership of an appropriate professional body (eg CIBSE, I.Mech. E, IEE, C.Eng.).
  • Experience of working as part of a management team.
  • Experience of managing own workload and that of others.

Experience:


  • Experience of competitive tendering / procurement processes, and the production of financially and strategically sound change proposals.
  • At least ten years post graduate experience across a range of areas relating to the management of Estates and Facilities in a multisite environment. E.g.

  • HTM's, HBN's
  • Previous experience in a management capacity in the NHS or any other large public sector organisation.
  • At least 5 years' experience at a senior level in a similar organization, coupled with indepth knowledge in an advisory and management role.
  • Experience in the development of policy, procedures and business cases
