We're excited to announce that we are on the hunt for a new Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator.


This is a brand new role for the charity and will play a critical part in strengthening our partnerships across the voluntary and public sector, from schools and tenant and resident associations, to local, play, youth, and community hubs.


The role will also play a key part in providing targeted support for local families through our new partnership with Cadent Gas, enabling them to access additional financial wellbeing support.

This will include working with teams across our services to deliver one to one, and group information, advice, and guidance sessions.


To be successful, you'll need to be an outstanding communicator, for whom building strong community connections and personal, trusting, relationships will be second nature.

Role Summary


The Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator is an exciting new role for the charity and will play a key part in strengthening our community partnerships across the local area, fostering greater collaboration, and increasing the reach and impact of our services and support for local children and families.

A significant part of the role will also be providing targeted support for families through our partnership with Cadent Gas, promoting a range of services that support the overall wellbeing of families in need.


Main Responsibilities:

  • You will work with existing community partners to raise awareness of Coram's Fields and its services, identify opportunities for collaboration and act as a conduit between partners and service managers to explore and develop these. This will include being a key part of the South Camden Community Network.
  • You will identify and develop new community partnerships that support and complement our work with local children and families, promote future collaboration and explore opportunities for funding with our Fundraising team.
  • You will work with parent/carer groups in schools and other community partners to build our understanding of the needs of the local community; identify gaps in current provision and opportunities to meet these through our services at Coram's Fields.
  • You will develop a new Coram's Fields Community Forum to grow user engagement; increase awareness of our work and ensure users play an active role in contributing to our future plans.
  • Using our CRM, you will maintain a database of community partners that enables us to share key information on our work and will create a system of monitoring and evaluation, to help us understand the impact of our community outreach and progress against key targets.
  • In collaboration with our Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for producing our monthly community newsletter.
  • You will work alongside our Operations Officer to recruit community volunteers who will have a regular presence in our park, promoting our work and signposting families to Coram's Fields services.
  • You will support the delivery of existing community events and development of new events, promoting Coram's Fields to local families; raising awareness of our services; signposting families to available support and contributing to our community fundraising efforts. Responsibilities specific to our partnership with Cadent Gas. This role is a new post funded by Cadent Gas.
As a result, you will be the main point of contact for the partnership, and will be responsible for promoting various services and support provided by Cadent and targeted at families most in need, including the following:


  • You will design and deliver workshops to families through Coram's Fields services and partners to provide advice and support across a number of key areas including; debt advice, employment support; financial management, income maximisation.
  • You will actively promote the benefits of families registering with Cadent's Priority Services Register (PSR) through workshops, case work and wider communications, to ensure families with additional communication and safety needs have equal access to Cadent's services.
  • You will be responsible, with support from our Fundraising Manager, for creating and maintaining the content for our Cadent partnership webpages and social media platforms to maximise the reach and impact of Cadent's initiatives for families in need.
  • You will work closely with the Cadent team to ensure we have up to date knowledge regarding their current initiatives and access to relevant resources and training for staff across the charity, to enable them to effectively promote Cadent's services to families in need.
