Sub Agent - Environment

Hampshire / West Sussex

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for an Sub Agent to join the team at Galliford Try.

You will work on our Southern Water Frameworks within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes, delivering both Design and Build.

Ideally, you will based in or around the Hampshire / West Sussex area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

Key Accountabilities:

Site Management

Coordinate and control initial setup, the ongoing construction site activities, actively installing
GTb SWP's systems and procedures.

Staff Development:

Assist the Site Manager, to plan, coordinate, maintain and develop staff and operative levels to effectively undertake current and prospective workloads.
Participate and actively encourage both training courses and on the job training
Monitor and record individual performances encouraging and disciplining as and when necessary.
Keep abreast of employment law and regulations.
Provide members of the site team with clear job descriptions defining responsibilities.

Financial Controls:

Administer the valuation system in conjunction with the commercial department, maximising cash collection and profitability.
Implement strict financial controls on the payment of subcontractors, suppliers and operatives.

Reporting:

Produce data as required to facilitate accurate reporting for inclusion in Management Board Papers

Communication:

Liaise and coordinate with all GALLIFORD TRY functions to support the overall business objectives

Security:

Appraise the security risk to all GALLIFORD TRY property under your control and install security levels commensurate to the relative values.

General Discipline:

It is incumbent upon all members of staff to maintain standards of discipline that accord with the Conditions of Service

H&S and Environment:

Safety is the cornerstone of GALLIFORD TRY strategy.

As Sub Agent, you will undertake the role of the Site Safety Supervisor as appropriate and actively maintain and enforce safety standards as required by statute and in accordance with the GTb SWP safety Policies.

You will also ensure the GTb SWP commissioning, HS&E and Construction Management Plans are fully implemented and maintained.

Recognise that Health and Safety considerations are central to all tasks and contribute to ensuring safe working environment for all.
Actively support the Site Manager to maintain and enforce safety standards as required by statute and in accordance with GALLIFORD TRY's Safety Policies
Work to Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
Ensure compliance to all HS&E policies and procedures Quality & Document Control
Understand and implement the Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies and Targets;
Comply, as appropriate, with the processes contained within the GALLIFORD TRY BMS;
Suggest improvements to the GALLIFORD TRY BMS when they become apparent.
Ensure 4 Projects is used as document management system

About You:

Minimum of 3 years site management experience preferably in the water and wastewater industry

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

HND/HNC or degree (IMecE)
SMSTS/SSSTS
First Aid
CSCS
Temporary Works Coordinator CITB

SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

Bright demeanour.
Excellent Communication Skills.
Excellent IT Skills with experience of using PowerPoint, excel, outlook and use of the internet.
Strong leadership and motivational skills with drive and focus to deliver results through teams.
